چکیده
Induction of inflammation is one the most apparent acute effects ultraviolet (UV) on skin, but many studies investigate anti-inflammation and anti-photoaging potency topical formulations with UV models mainly recruit skin types I-IV. Despite growing research photoaging cancer V-VI, knowledge biological responses including erythema vascular dynamics, limited. A double-blinded, randomized, controlled clinical study was conducted I-VI to address response a low SSR-dose series on: erythema, color, blood flow/flux, superficial plexus diameter over 4 weeks. 1% hydrocortisone used as positive control for activity. Fifty-three healthy female volunteers received SSR at 0.8x minimal dose (MED calculated based ITA°), 1.0x MED, 1.5x MED followed by 7 days. Results suggested induction varied within sub-skin types. Blood flow, flux, L a* values showed significant increases 24 hours differences among The treated 1.5 site did not show compared untreated site, increased flux value in V-VI. This might elucidate hydrocortisone’s blanching effect increasing flow early stage inflammation. Thus, I-II consistent 0.8-1.0x whereas III-IV V-VI which suggests an adjustment factor determination ITA° III-IV. These results demonstrate possible model treatment window alleviate different We suggest future anti-inflammatory ingredients account variations

Simulated and measured optical coherence tomography images of human enamel.
Optical coherence tomography images of human enamel were simulated and compared to measured images. A Monte Carlo code was implemented, which considered the microstructure of enamel. The prisms, the main scattering structures of the enamel, were described by oscillating cylinders whose scattering functions were obtained by solutions of Maxwell's equations. The essential features of the measured...
متن کاملDoppler Optical Coherence Tomography
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) has revolutionized ophthalmology. Since its introduction in the early 1990s it has continuously improved in terms of speed, resolution and sensitivity. The technique has also seen a variety of extensions aiming to assess functional aspects of the tissue in addition to morphology. One of these approaches is Doppler OCT (DOCT), which aims to visualize and quanti...
متن کاملCorrelation between Visual Acuity and Optical Coherence Tomography-Measured Retinal Thickness in Diabetic Macular Edema
Background and Objective: Diabetic macular edema (DME) is one of the common complications of diabetes which significantly accounts for preventable visual impairment and blindness. Central macular thickness (CMT) is a feature found in DME patients. This study aims to determine the relationship between optical coherence tomography (OCT)-measured CMT and visual acuity (VA) in patients with DME bef...
متن کاملInterstitial Doppler optical coherence tomography.
Doppler optical coherence tomography (OCT) can image tissue structure and blood flow at micrometer-scale resolution but has limited imaging depth. We report a novel, linear-scanning, needle-based Doppler OCT system using angle-polished gradient-index or ball-lensed fibers. A prototype system with a 19-guage (diameter of approximately 0.9 mm) echogenic needle is constructed and demonstrates in v...
متن کاملEvaluation of radiation-induced oral mucositis by optical coherence tomography.
PURPOSE Optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging was evaluated to determine if radiation-induced mucosal damage could be noninvasively monitored in real time and correlated with histopathologic findings. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN Female C3H mice, ages 7 to 9 weeks, four per group, were immobilized in a custom-made Lucite jig and received 0, 15, 22.5, and 25 Gy in a single fraction to their oral c...
